No Drill

We have had a nice quiet day today, but it is cold and a little bit rough. We relocated our outside activities to the Starlight Showroom as it was too cold to host the activities outside, plus there wasn’t anyone out there. There was only a small crowd in the lounge but they joined in all of the activities and had a great time. We got good news this afternoon; the US Coast Guard inspection has been postponed until June. Since we have been doing so well with our quarterly inspections we will now only be inspected annually and semi annually. That also means we won’t be having drills every afternoon so we will have time to get off the ship when we get to Grand Bahama. I didn’t go out today, as it was too cold for me. I am spoiled and used to nice warm weather, if it is below 70 degrees I want to stay inside. It is supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow so I might head over to the international bazaar for lunch.

We are looking forward to taking a day cruise and hoping to take advantage of the Cruise 'n Stay option. I was wondering if you could direct me to where I can find information on how we get from the ship to the hotel we choose?

You have a few options: There are taxis at the port - these are mini vans and you are organized into groups to go to the hotels - it is about a 15 minute ride to most hotels on island from the port. The rate (based upon 11 peaple in the cab) ranges from $5-$8 per persion each way. You can also purchase transfers from Discovery when you book your trip - the best way is with Discovery Plus service - this costs $49 per person and includes express check in to the ship - a private lounge onboard with attended tea and coffee service, champagne breakfast on the ship, a la carte lunch onboard, express check out and transfers to and from the hotel plus a 7 course dinner on the return cruise - People rave about this service!
