Bahamas Spring Break

Spring break is almost upon us, and if you've ever been to the Bahamas in late March / early April, you know that the party doesn't stop morning, noon or night. Grand Bahama Island is a favorite vacation hot spot for college kids, South Floridians and out-of-towners alike. As such, travelers can expect a variety of seasonal activities, contests, excursions, parties, and evening entertainment.

During your cruise Discovery will be handing out party beads and blowers via various on board contests and games, and passengers will have access to all the traditional amenities, such as the swimming pool, casino, bars, lounges, and entertainment. Also of note, the legal drinking age in the Bahamas is 18, as well as on board the cruise ship upon entering international waters.

Space is limited, so make your one day Bahamas Party Cruise reservations early!

For those of us that are perhaps
unaware as to what occurs on the
cruise during the Break, we'd like
knowledge as to what activities

Discovery will have on board.
I go to a small university and
so my 4 friends and I are very much
considering Discovery for a trip
over spring break. Are the hotels
very college student friendly or
even party friendly? We think It's
really nice to have a place to ask
you questions. Thank you

With regards to shipboard activities, Discovery has a deck party on the way to the Bahamas and also on the return - this is a blast! There are lots of contests and games, such as beer drinking contests (you must be 18 to legally drink in the Bahamas or when the ship is in international waters), a real man competition, dance contests, Miss Discovery contest and more. There is also a disco, live bands and Karaoke.

On the island one can usually find entertainment and parties at all hours of the day during spring break. The nightlife extends way past midnight, and there are plenty of outdoor bars, clubs, casino action, and beach parties. Having been there during Spring Break myself, I can tell you firsthand that Grand Bahama definitely caters to the college student crowd. Some hotels may have a minimum age requirement to check in or a maximum number of guests per room - if you call Discovery at 1-888-213-8231 a vacation specialist will be able to tell you which hotel would best suit your needs.

When on the island there is usually a lot going on in the Port Lucaya area for the spring break party crowd.

Everything sounds so absolutely
amazing. I'd like to go ahead and thank you for responding so fast.

Are any of the hotels which

Discovery works with offering all inclusive packages? We possibly can stay there a few nights. The king size beds are a must. Thanks

If you're looking for an all-inclusive package, I highly recommend the Viva Wyndham resort.

The property itself is situated directly beachfront, and your stay includes all meals and drinks (you must be 18 to legally drink in the Bahamas), as well as snacks and non-motorized water sports (kayaking, windsurfing, snorkel gear, etc.) Be aware however that for the spring break season, the hotel will be charging all guests in the room a $100 per person deposit, which you can redeem at the end of your stay, provided you haven't destroyed the room :)
